A Help Authoring Guide
Moving Forward
This procedure works exactly the same for creating H2 Installation packages for either the Visual Studio .NET 2003 or Visual Studio 2005 Help Contents windows.
- The only difference in procedure is in selecting which Visual Studio version you wish to build for while you are working in the Help Integration Wizard 2005.
- I have not built an example for the Visual Studio 2002 I.D.E., so I cannot comment on or account for on any differences
which may occur during that process.
If your Build and Installation processes have been successful, you can now rename the Debug folder which contains the Setup.exe and
m.s.i. installation package.
- You can zip it and then place it on a server for internal distribution to your In-house Development team.
- You can also send it to your Partner and Client Development teams for inclusion into their Visual Studio Integrated Development Environments to aid them in working with your software.
If you wish, please use this tutorial as a TestCase/Lab.
- Compile the web pages in this tutorial into a .chm and proceed with the conversion and then the integration.
- When you are comfortable with the process and procedures, then go full ahead and use your own materials.
- I hope that this exercise adds to your experience and pleasure while working with Helpware FAR HTML and Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005.
